Identifying the components of students' general weakness in recognizing and understanding the science of expression in literary texts

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to identify the factors of general weakness of 11th grade humanities students in recognizing and understanding the elements of the science of expression in literary texts. In terms of purpose, this research was applied and based on the type of data, it was exploratory, which was conducted in a sequential manner (qualitative-quantitative). The statistical population in the qualitative phase included teachers of Persian literature. The statistical sample was selected using the purposeful sampling method until reaching theoretical saturation (10 people). Semi-structured and in-depth interviews were used to collect data in this section. Data analysis was done using the content analysis technique (open, central and selective coding). Validity was confirmed through the researcher's self-review and reliability was also confirmed through the reproducibility index. The statistical population in the quantitative part included teachers of Persian literature and science and technology in Abike city in the academic year of 1402-1403 and students of the 11th grade of humanities; The statistical sample of teachers was 20 people and the sample of students was determined using the Karjesi-Morgan table (number of 210 people) and by simple random sampling method.
