Abstract

. Background and Objectives:The present study aimed to analyze the existing scientific reports on child lanaguge development focusing on the the differences between girls and boys in early childhood(1-5 years). Method: A meta-analysis was used to carry oiutv the study. According to the Prisma model, 11 relevant articles were selected and analyzed with respect to their concepts, approaches, nature, methods, and conceptual feameworks. Findings:The findings indicated three possibilities: First, there is a difference between girls and boys in language development, and girls achieve this earlier than boys. Second, there is no difference between boys and girls in language learning, but being exposed to other factors such as psychological traits and individual differneces would caus the discrepencies.Third, dferences ie in the learning of transactional and interactional functions of lanaguge, as boys devlop the former inan earlier time and girls the latter. Conclusion: Most of the studies reported believe in the existence of gender differences in language development of children, but some believe that the difference is caused by other factors such as psychological traits and individual differneces. Therefore, it is necessary to control the intervening factors affecting language development in children, so that the elements affecting language differences can be better revealed
