Abstract

Background and Purpose: The purpose of this research is to construct and calculate the psychometric characteristics of the screening of preschoolers exposed to learning problems in the preschool period.
Materials and methods: This research is an observational study and in terms of data collection method, it is a descriptive quantitative research. In order to design this screener, after examining the research background and theoretical foundations, the fundamental variables of school learning were identified and the initial items and worksheets of the screener of preschoolers exposed to learning problems were compiled. Psychometric characteristics were also extracted using the opinions of experts and 250 preschoolers.
Results and conclusions: The content validity index of the background information checklist, pre-primary children's performance screener and the total content validity index are equal to 0.9, 0.78 and 0.84, respectively. In addition, the value of Cronbach's alpha as a reliability index is calculated as 0.97. The results of exploratory factor analysis also show that only one component has an eigenvalue greater than 1, which accounts for 68.55% of the total variance. Based on this, the results of this study provide good evidence about the psychometric characteristics of preschoolers with learning problems.
