Abstract

The phenomenon of teaching and learning is influenced by the cultural contexts of schools, and the learning community and leadership style are the contexts influencing the development and professional learning. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of transformational leadership on professional learning mediated by the professional learning community in primary school teachers in Chabahar city. The research method was correlation with the structural equation modeling approach. The research population was 600 primary school teachers in Chabahar. The research sample was selected by simple random method according to Morgan table of 234 people. In the research tool, three questionnaires of transformational leadership, professional learning and professional learning communities were used. The validity and reliability of all three instruments were reported to be appropriate based on confirmatory analysis, combined reliability and Cronbach's alpha. Data analysis was performed using PLS software. The results showed that transformational leadership directly and indirectly through professional learning communities is effective on teachers' professional learning. Transformational leadership also had a direct impact on the professional learning community and the professional learning communities directly affected professional learning.
