Identifying dimensions and components and factors affecting the motivation of faculty members of Farhangian University: a qualitative research

Abstract

Background and objectives: The aim of the upcoming research is to identify dimensions, components and effective factors on the motivation of faculty members of Farhangian University.
Method: This research was conducted using the qualitative content analysis method. The statistical population of the research is made up of experts in the subject area, of which 25 people were selected using the purposeful sampling method. Therefore, based on the research literature, dimensions, components and effective factors were identified and content analyzed. Then, they were approved based on the opinion of experts. Data analysis was done using conventional content analysis method using MAXQDA software and mean, standard deviation and t-test using SPSS.
Findings: In the findings, four dimensions (nature of work, desire to achieve success, professional growth and social dignity) in the form of nine components (autonomy, job meaning, job attractiveness, organizational commitment, self-employment, desire to progress, desire to research, recognition, appreciation and social respect) were categorized. A total of 38 indicators (key statements) were obtained. In addition, the factors affecting motivation included economic, cultural, environmental and managerial factors.
