Evaluation of Tehran University's readiness to design a strategy based on McLennan's Inverse Pyramid

Abstract

In this paper, which is applied and descriptive survey type applied and descriptive- survey research based on a process approach, the McLean Reverse Pyramid model has attempted to provide a framework for effective components of strategic planning to the University of Tehran and then measure the readiness of the University of Tehran based on it. In this mixed study, qualitative data were collected by semi-structured interviews with 20 individuals and quantitative data were collected with a researcher-made questionnaire. Quantitative and qualitative part statistical society was officials and deputies of the University of Tehran, and professors in the field of strategy. In the qualitative part, purposeful sampling was used and in a small part, simple random sampling was used, which was done by receiving 200 questionnaires. In the qualitative part, purposeful sampling and in the quantitative part, simple random sampling was used. Data were obtained with receiving 200 questionnaires and the For the thirteen-dimensional framework, 43 components were confirmed. The mean position of the dimensions was evaluated using the Friedman and t tests. The findings show in strategic planning the University of Tehran is the most prepared in two dimensions of organizational structure and performance criteria
