The sample of this study consists of 35 female secondary school students (in humanities, experimental sciences, and mathematics fields) from each province (10 students from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, 13 students from Fars, and 12 students from Isfahan) and sampling was done until data saturation was achieved. The data collection tool in this study is a semi-structured interview. The validity of this tool was confirmed using interpretive validity. Reliability was calculated using coder agreement and resulted in a reliability of 0.89. Data analysis was performed using thematic analysis. After conducting the interviews, the data were categorized into 6 main themes and 31 sub-themes. The results of data analysis showed that physical factors, personality traits, and learning styles of students have an impact on their choice of seating location in the classroom.
