The causal model of the relationship between authentic leadership characteristics and work engagement with an emphasis on the mediating role of work ethics among the employees of CFU of Kermanshah province

Abstract

The current research has been conducted with the purpose of the causal model of the relationship between authentic leadership characteristics and work engagement, emphasizing the mediating role of work ethics . The statistical population of all employees of Farhangian University of Kermanshah province in the academic year of 1402-1401 was 187 people. For this purpose and based on Morgan's table, the number of 126 people was by simple random sampling. The statistical sample of the research was selected. The descriptive research method was a correlational survey. In this research, authentic leadership questionnaires were used by Avolio et al. (2006), Aberdeman's job involvement (2020) and Bateman and Senel's work ethics (2004). Validity and reliability of the instrument were confirmed. In order to test the research hypotheses, descriptive statistics and then structural equation technique were used using smart-pls software, and the results showed that authentic leadership has a positive and significant effect on job engagement (0.38). The effect of authentic leadership on work ethics is positive and significant (0.72). Work ethic has a positive and significant effect on job engagement ( 0.40) and finally, the indirect effect of authentic leadership on job engagement with the mediation of work ethic is significant (0.29).
