Abstract

Background and objectives: The aim of the current research was to design a model of selection criteria for ninth grade girls in Shahrekord city. Methods: The mixed research method was of qualitative and quantitative type. The statistical population was all ninth grade female students of Shahrekord city in the academic year of 1402-1403. Purposive sampling method was used to achieve theoretical saturation. 17 people were selected as the sample size. The data collection method was used in qualitative (in-depth interviews) and quantitative (researcher-made questionnaire). To analyze the data in the qualitative phase, the foundation's data-based coding process was used using Max QDA software version 2020. In the quantitative phase, the validation of the designed model was done using CVR convergent validity and CVI content validity indices. Findings: 14 selective codes in the central category (the criteria of the individual, helping people), causal factors (causal and external factors), intervening factors (promoting and inhibiting), background (job and income opportunity, environment, opportunities) , strategies (counseling and study) and consequences (individual, society and family) were obtained. Conclusion: The model of criteria for choosing the field of study of ninth grade female students can be used as a guiding model for counselors, students and parents.
