Abstract

Academic emotions are those emotions that students specifically experience during their academic activities and have important effects on different aspects of their learning. So the main purpose of this study was the investigate validity and reliability of achievement emotions questionnaire for elementary school (AEQ-ES). To do this, first 386 male and female students of the second period of primary schools in Sanandaj with two-step clustering method were selected and responded to the questionnaire items related to science course. Then the validity of questionnaire using factor analysis and the reliability using cronbach's alpha and test-retest reliability evaluated. The results of confirmatory analysis showed that the factor structure determined for the instrument has an acceptable fit with the data and all goodness indicators of the fit support the model. Also The cronbach's alpha and test-retest reliability coefficients for all subscales vary from 0/70 to 0/89 that demonstrate good internal consistency and high reliability of this questionnaire. So it seems that this questionnaire is a useful tool to measure students' academic emotions in primary school in science and other courses.
