The lived experiences of teachers accepted in the employment exam regarding the challenges of applying the lessons learned from the training course under Article 28 of Farhangian University

Abstract

Background and Objectives: The aim of the present study was to explore the lived experiences of the accepted candidates of the educational employment exam regarding the application of the skills learned during the teacher training course in schools. Methods: The research approach was qualitative and phenomenological. The participants in the study were all the teachers accepted in the employment exam of the Education Department of Yazd province during the years(2020-2022)., fourteen of them participated in the study. Sampling continued until the data saturation stage. They participated using a semi-structured in-depth interview tool. The data analysis method was coding. Findings: Based on the research findings, the experiences of the accepted candidates regarding the challenges of using the teacher training course were placed in two themes: lack of readiness of the trainees and feeling stress and confusion at the beginning of teaching. The set of factors from the challenges of using the teacher training course included two main themes of soft and behavioral backgrounds and hard and equipment backgrounds . Conclusion: The results of the research showed that the training course of the Article 28 accepted candidates has not been able to prepare the trainees for the start of teaching as expected.
